Well its a fairly peacful Sunday morning. The kids have had breakfast and Sarah is in the kitchen with her pens and pencils drawing and colouring. Blaire is stomping around on her continual hunt for things to eat. Unlike Sarah she loves all types of food and will happily pick a cherry tomato over a spagetti hoop.

I'm slightly hung over today. I bought 2 bottles of Malt whisky yesterday to add to my collection. One was a Talisker from the Isle of Skye which is one of my favourites and the other was The Balvenie (double wood) which I haven't tasted for a good few years. Needless to say the consumption of whisky on top of beer and red wine hasn't resulted in a happy Sunday head, groan.

Anyway, I thought I'd go ahead and post some more old concept work. This is more from the Nightcaster project. The premise behind the creatures in the game were to make very colourful fun monsters that were more fun than just scary. I think they turned out looking farily nice although unfortunalty they weren't implemented very effectively once in the game. Still you win some and loose some I suppose.

Good Morning all, at 6.50am.

Well, up fairly early this morning. I got away from work yesterday so that I could take my Daughters 'Trick or treating'. It was good fun although we don't have very many sociable neighbours near us. There were a few that were good though and had got some candy in just incase we came around. Sarah (4) was dressed as a witch although she can't wear face paints because of her allergies and Baby Blaire (1) was dressed as a fairy princess. She was totally loving her little pink dress. Anyway, we now have enough Candy to last us a good few weeks because we bought some in just incase we got some visitors ourselves but with only 4 trick or treaters turning up we still have a large amount of sweets left.

Anyway. I'm posting some more old art work today. These are the concept sketches for the main character in a game I worked on called Nightcaster a fantasy action title. In order, we have some initial early pre production sketches followed by some early production sketches and finally a sketch which resulted in the final look of the character. Weirdly enough the original paper sketch for the 3rd image was given away to someone in a competition on TeamXbox. I have no idea who got it in the end.

I've realised that while I've been working as a lead Artist I haven't actually produced as much of my own work as I would like. I seem to spend all my time managing the team or even doing the thankless tasks that most people don't enjoy like developing processes, investigating technology and general touch up of work. I've said to myself a number of times that I need to get back on track and start doing my own thing again. At some point soon I hope to start doing that.

Anyway, until then I'm posting some early work which is a few years old now but at least it might get me thinking about getting started again.

The images below are samples of the early concept work for the cross platform game 'Goblin Commander'. I was part of the concept and development team for the project and it was the last thing I worked on before I moved back to the UK 4 years ago. Obviously just sketch pad scribbles really but I use to keep a large amount of pocket sketch books on the go. Something I'm finally starting to do again.

Shame the time stamp on these post is so far off. So I'll add my own time stamp
7.45pm (UK time)
Well, I've Blogged else where for a while but decided to move on. I found this site via a friend of mine Ross Burt. There are a few people I know here and so I figured this would be a good place to start. So feel free to drop by if you like. I can't guarentee something interesting to see every day but I'll try to keep my posts frequent

Enjoy
